I wonder why no one in Congress does anything about high oil prices. I know Bush is an oil man and has done what he can to keep the prices high, but you would think someone in Congress would do something about the cost of oil.

If we elected a new President could he or she do something about the cost of oil?

Iraqi output has stayed below the level that it was since Bush started his war.

If oil prices per barrel have gone down so much in the last couple weeks than why haven’t the prices at the gas pumps gone down at all yet? I have only seen a 3-4 cent decrease in the last week or so. But when the prices per barrel goes up we see an immediate increase at the pumps.

US has 2 nd largest oil reserve in the World good enough to power US for 250 yrs . In 250 yrs we will surely have technologies that are far better than solar panels and wind energy , we will not need oil for energy .

Why US refuses to boost production ? it would give us jobs and lower gas prices and boost economy .

Why we allow oil rich countries which are our geopolitical enemies and we allow them to prosper from high oil prices ???

I think it’s a positive. The faster we get off the oil needle, the faster we stop shipping dollars to arabs and others who hate us. With gas prices at $4 and going up, there’s finally an incentive to go green - and FAST!

The same call of arms should be shouted to the scientific community now. I find it hard to believe after all we have accomplished that science cannot free us of the chains of oil dependancy. Surley there is one mind in this country who can find a way to make money by ending oil consumption.

Why do they want Obama to do something about this? I thought they wanted less regulation and government intervention. If Obama put regulations on oil prices, you’d just accuse him of being a communist all over again. Funny how you contradict yourself.
