Honest Rob asked: I listened to an interview that said Obama’s biggest threat is oil prices and he was planning a surprise dump of strategic reserves to flush the final pump-and-dump speculators out of the market. But now I can’t find anything about it on the internet. I was hoping to find it after listening to it on the radio, but no mention of a dump or even it as a serious threat.
Anyone else hear of this?

me asked: Many people told me that gas prices are expensive not because of supply and demand, but because the people that own the oil companies raise prices, and say that there’s not a lot of oil.

mickey_bigdaddy asked: Up until Katrina, I don’t recall the oil prices going up due to hurricanes that “MIGHT” damage an oil producing rig in coastal waters. Has this always been the case? Looks like the latest tropical storm is driving the price of oil up, or so they say. To me, this looks like a SCAM to gouge the US people again.

Sandy asked: Since Obama himself said that he sees nothing wrong with raising gas prices.
If you want lower gas prices, the Republicans have a record for attempting that. McCain proposed a gas tax holiday and is open to drilling in ANWR. Obama is against both of those ideas.

More money then cents asked: Well, its happened! oil reached over $124.00 a barrel! now its looking like gas will be $4.00 or more a gallon! With prices that high people with gas guzzling trucks, vans and SUVs must be feeling the hurt on their pocketbooks!. Am I the only person that is buying a brand new small economy car? (2008 Ford Focus). When gas cost 25% of your paycheck you start to think. Anyway, are there any folks that are planning on getting a new small car?

Dean asked: I am doing a research essay on how oil corporations were able to use the 9/11 attacks to their own advantages. I was wondering how they were able to raise it, my professor told me I need specific events on how the oil corporations and the government negotiated to raise the oil prices dramatically.
What did the oil companies do to raise the price of oil and gas after 9/11 is pretty much my question.

tatethegreat74 asked: People can’t afford this! It’s because of the gas companies raising their gas per gallon that alot of other companies can’t collect their money each month from customers whether it be a phone bill, rent, grocery stores and retail stores suffering because of more money to put into gas tanks to get where they need to go, bill collectors can’t get their money because of everybody’s money going to Shell, Chevron, and BP gas stations taking everybody’s money. Don’t you agree? How do you expect the average American not to go into debt when he/she hasn’t received a raise and the only raise is the gas prices per gallon?
