Why do Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton constantly talk about lowering oil prices. Since oil costs a lot now wouldnt that be an advantage to the economy? That would mean less people would drive and use less oil, and we could protect the ozone layer.

Someone releases a report showing what oil prices could go up to - or - somebody test fires a missile? Why doesn’t someone give these report writers a hint, and say “write a report that says oil prices could go as low as 90 dollars a barrel by the end of the year.” How do you think the market would respond?
ax, what I am saying is - instead of forecasting in reports that oil COULD reach 175 dollars a barrel by the end of the summer, which scares speculators and actually becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy - forecast that oil could come down.
