I’ve heard about the concept of Prime Oil, but that would only explain oil price’s rise, and not it’s recent decline. Even Greenspan made a comment about the price of oil being linked to the Iraq War. But if we are buying oil from Iraq at a cheap price, shouldn’t that create the opposite effect?

SDD, crude oil prices indeed fell over a course of a few days. They have recently risen though. I suggest you recheck the US markets over the past week or so–your comment is inappropriate.
